Arc and Flash Lamps

Renewable energy has become the centre of attention due to the economic and environmental constraints placed on energy consumption. The demand for solar cells and panels increases year on year and manufacturers have moved to round the clock product testing. Sun simulation standards provide the means for improving lamp testing, quality control, efficiency and cost reduction. Ideally, testing solar cells and panels would require standard sunlight simulation across the full spectrum of wavelengths from short UV through to infrared. Throughout the test period the measurements need to be stable and repeatable. Heraeus Noblelight, Cambridge, is already working with leading Solar Test Equipment manufacturers and understands their needs in testing solar cells and modules.
Arc and Flash lamps
We are able to tailor the product by working with the customer for its requirements either producing bespoke or manufacture existing lamp designs. We can produce both linear or ring lamps which provide uniform output distribution across the lamp to test single cells and solar modules. The lamp output closely matches the solar spectrum and can be used repeatedly for testing. This stability combined with the long lamp life allows for quality control.
Spectral match
Heraeus Xenon solar flash lamps match the solar spectrum across the range of 250nm – 1000nm. The desired wavelengths are selected using our high quality quartz. Using special cathode technology pioneered at Heraeus Noblelight, lamp output closely matches that of the solar spectrum and provides stable and repeatable results.
